The motion controller has a modular design and can be freely configured
according to the requirements with different modules.
The individual modules are interconnected by a high-speed bus embedded in the DIN rail.
Extension modules
For the extension of the motion controller different modules are available:
- Digital inputs and outputs
- Analog inputs and outputs
- Encoder modules
- RS232 interfaces

Central processing unit
The central unit is the heart of VariMotion. This module houses all
the components required to operate the system.
Various central units with different computing capacities and memory sizes
ensure optimum adaptation to the technical requirements.
The central unit contains the following elements:
- Remanent Retentive memory up to 8 MB
with wear-free MRAM memories
- vNET interface for drive network
- USB interface for programming
Network connection
To enable the use of VariMotion in different plant topologies, several
modules are available for the established fieldbuses and networks.
Ethernet TCP/IP
The network interface also contains a connection for Ethernet TCP/IP.
This can be used for programming and it is also possible to access
multi-port variables and objects with the pNET protocol.
